Earlier messages: Call for papers
We are inviting submissions for the fifth special issue of Estonian Journal of Education (Eesti Haridusteaduste Ajakiri), which is scheduled to be published in November 2015. The journal welcomes high-quality research papers in the field of education and related areas. The editors of this issue are Associate Professor of Information Technology Piret Luik (University of Tartu), Professor of Informatics Peeter Normak (Tallinn University), Senior Researcher of Media Studies Andra Siibak (University of Tartu) and Senior Researcher of Information Technology Mart Laanpere (Tallinn University).
We welcome research articles as well as theoretical overviews related to information technology, informatics and media education both in Estonia and abroad. Some of the possible topics include:
- e-textbook;
- using opportunities offered by information technology (e.g. tablets, smart boards) in teaching;
- students’ and teachers’ media competences;
- the potentials and risks of the Internet;
- cyberbullying;
- digital literacy;
- teachers’ beliefs and attitudes to implementing information technology;
- social media support for learning (teacher-student interaction in social networks, virtual teaching communities).
The deadlines for the publication are as follows:
- Author(s) will send the topic of the article(s) accompanied by the abstract in Estonian to Piret Luik (piret.luik@ut.ee). The abstract of no more than 200 words should summarise the theory of research, the objective(s), the methodology as well as the (expected) results of the study – 27 October 2014.
- The editors send confirmation about the acceptance of the manuscripts to the corresponding authors – 10 November 2014.
- The authors will submit properly formatted manuscripts with a summary in English – 9 February 2015.
- The editors will inform the authors about the review results – 23 March 2015.
- The authors will revise the manuscripts suggested by the reviewers – 6 April 2015.
- Second revision of the manuscripts by the authors (if necessary) – 1 June 2015.
- Language editing of the manuscripts – June-August 2015.
- Lay-out of the journal at University of Tartu Press – September-October 2015.
- Date of final publication – November 2015.
